LetterMark Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") specifies the actions prohibited by Research Triangle Software, Inc. All customers of the LetterMark™ email service are expected to comply with this policy.

LetterMark email is not an email program.  It cannot be used to create, send or receive an email.  Rather, LetterMark technology adds web-based graphics and links to 1-1 business email.  It is a client-server system that works in concert with a sender’s email program.

 

Research Triangle Software, Inc. prohibits the use of LetterMark email services in any manner associated with the transmission, distribution or delivery of any solicited or unsolicited bulk email (Spam).  Solicited bulk email includes but is not limited to newsletters, e-alerts, e-catalogs and email marketing campaigns.  You may not include the LetterMark email service on any solicited or unsolicited bulk email.

 

Furthermore, you may not include the LetterMark email service on any email that:

• Uses or contains invalid or forged headers.
• Uses or contains invalid or non-existent domain names.
• Employs any technique to otherwise misrepresent, hide or obscure any information in identifying the point of origin or the transmission path.
• Uses other means of deceptive addressing.
• Uses a third party's internet domain name, or is relayed from or through a third party's equipment, without permission of the third party.
• Contains false or misleading information in the subject line or otherwise contains false or misleading content.
• Otherwise violates the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.

Research Triangle Software, Inc. does not permit or authorize others to use the LetterMark email service to collect, compile or obtain any information about its customers, including but not limited to customer email addresses. Use of the LetterMark email service is also subject to the LetterMark Privacy Policy.

 

Research Triangle Software, Inc. reserves the right to investigate suspected violations of the AUP. If Research Triangle Software, Inc. believes or is informed that unauthorized or improper use is being made of the LetterMark email service, it may, without notice, take such action as it, at its sole discretion, deems appropriate including disabling the LetterMark email service.  Research Triangle Software, Inc. may immediately terminate any LetterMark email account which it determines, at its sole discretion, is transmitting or is otherwise connected with any email that violates this policy.  Violations of this AUP could also subject the customer to criminal or civil liability.

Research Triangle Software, Inc. reserves the right to modify this AUP at any time without notice.
