Many people are familiar with email stationery and signature files. While these technologies offer an element of graphically enhanced email, they are better suited for individual use. Such technologies lack the power, capability and scalability of a robust web-enhanced email solution.
Microsoft Outlook Stationery
Provides limited, generic options. Difficult to match corporate graphic standards. Intended primarily for applying an individual, often whimsical look to personal emails.
Signature Files
Company logos and digital business cards can be created and saved into the signature files of individual users. Graphics are typically embedded, thereby becoming part of the email message making files sizes unacceptably large. Graphics can be delivered off of a server, but deployment, central management, and maintenance of multiple templates present significant challenges.
